CITY VAMPIRES / DEVELOPMENT NOTE

City Vampires: why randomized tiered loot belongs in the hunt

The next candidate build adds randomized tiered loot to make each successful hunt a more meaningful progression decision.

In City Vampires, the hunt needs to create a reason to take another risk. Combat, feeding, heat, and escape already ask players to read the city. Randomized tiered loot is meant to give those decisions a lasting result without turning every encounter into a checklist.

Rarity should change the choice

Tiered loot gives a find a clear place in the player’s growing kit. A better result should feel useful because it changes how the player approaches the next contract, district, or arena encounter—not just because it has a brighter label.

Randomization keeps the route through the city from becoming automatic. Players can pursue a familiar objective while still discovering a reason to adjust their priorities, compare what they found, or make one more trip into a dangerous district.

Testing the loop with the city

The loot system is part of the next candidate build alongside five districts, a coven hideout, seven contracts, and the Crimson Circle arena. It is currently in private QA with the rest of that build, where the focus is multiplayer, saves, and device performance.

That testing matters because the reward loop has to sit comfortably beside the rest of the game. A good drop should support the hunt, not distract from the pressure created by heat, hunters, and a city that reacts.

What is live now

City Vampires is live as a public alpha on Roblox. The public alpha and the private-QA candidate are separate: the expanded loot update is not being presented as already live.
